Outlook 2007 Has Not Been Installed

Error:

You may see the error below when attempting to use the Outlook functionality in SI5 even when running Office 2010 on your machine.

File:Si5Wiki/SI5/zCritical_Issues/Outlook_Integration/outlook_2007.jpg

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 has not been installed.

Cause:

This occurs on Win7/Vista machines where either:
  • SI5 is running as Administrator and Outlook is running as a normal user
  • Outlook is running as Administrator and SI5 is running as a normal user

Solution:

Run both SI5 and Outlook as Administrator, or run them both as a normal user. To do this, right-click the program you wish to open and choose "Run as Administrator".  Another simple work around is to close Outlook while SI5 is open and the re-launch Outlook, it will re-open with the same permission level as SI5 and this error will not occur.
