About the D-Tools Documentation Wiki (Diki)

The D-Tools Documentation Wiki contains modularized product documentation, meaning that there is a defined place for every piece of information about the product. Extensive hyperlinking allows you to navigate among the related topics to get exactly the information that you need.

Benefits of Modularization and Hyperlinking

By modularizing the content of the product documentation and hyperlinking among the topics, we can keep each piece of content in only one place, rather than repeating it in multiple places. This prevents problems where multiple pieces of content get out of sync and contradict each other.

These approaches also allow us to provide you with more detailed information without bogging down each topic that you read. For example, if you are reading about the managing product data, you can click a hyperlink to the related information if you need that data, or you can choose to skip it.

Scope of the Documentation Wiki

Documentation is progressively moving from the online help to the Documentation Wiki, and as much new documentation as possible is being created in the wiki from the beginning. Eventually, all of the content that is currently in the online help and feature guides will reside in this tool.

The Documentation Wiki will only contain information on the latest versions of D-Tools products.  Legacy customers will have to use the older printed and online resources.  We considered adding all of the older resources to this Wiki but did not want to compromise the search experience by having similar results.

How to Use the Documentation Wiki

There are a number of ways to get to a topic in the Documentation Wiki:

  • Search for a topic by typing a keyword in the search box at the top of the screen and click Find.
  • Look up a topic through the table of contents in the navigation pane on the left.
  • Navigate to a topic by clicking a link in a related topic.
  • Use the automatically generated sitemap as a live table of contents with the hierarchy exposed.
  • See what other people are view with the most popular pages feature.
  • Keep track of changing content with the RSS feeds feature.
  • Join the conversation, use the comment form at the bottom of each page.

Generating PDFs out of the Wiki

2. Click the Print page button in the toolbar at the top

A print preview window appears. If the window is blank, continue to the next step anyway.

3. Click the Save as PDF button at the top of the window.

    The PDF appears.

4. Click the floppy disk icon to save the document to your computer.

Providing Feedback

The D-Tools Documentation Wiki is a work in progress, and we'd love to hear your ideas for making it better.  The best way to provide feedback is to use the comment form at the bottom of each page.  This information goes directly to the Wiki administrators.  In order to keep the comments as relevant and spam free as possible they will be moderated before posting and you will need to register and verify email address.
