If you wish to make a backup of your local files on the client machine you will want to make a copy or zip of the following three folders.  Note: all paths below are the default paths used when SI5 installs.

XP -   C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\D-Tools

 C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\D-Tools

C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\D-Tools SI 5 Projects

Vista/Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\D-Tools

                                C:\Users\username\Documents\D-Tools SI 5 Projects

Customized Reports do NOT backup as part of our backup utility so they must be manually backed up.  See here for instructions.

If you want/need to make a backup of your server data you will want to make sure all projects are checked in and all users are logged out.  There is a backup utility in the Admin Console that will backup your SI5 server data but if you wish to make a manual backup you will want to make a copy of the following folders and files:

Projects folder:

C:\DToolsData\Projects (or possibly C:\D-Tools\SI 5\Server\Projects)

Products folder:

C:\DToolsData\Products (or possibly C:\D-Tools\SI 5\Server\Products)

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\DToolsProducts50.mdf
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\DToolsProducts50_log.LDF
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\DToolsProjects50.mdf
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\DToolsProjects50_log.LDF
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\DToolsUsers50.mdf
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\DToolsUsers50_log.LDF

*MSSQL.1 – the number may vary depending on how many instances of SQL you have installed on your machine
