Error "Access is Denied" When Checking for Updates

When checking for updates on an SI 2016 Client, you get the following "Access is denied" message:

The message will appear when you click Start > Help > Check for Updates, and is due to a Windows permission issue.



Close SI 2016 Client, then right-click on the icon and select "Run as administrator".

Then, run Check for Updates again. The update screen should pop up for you to complete the update.
