There are four Category Types to choose from: Equipment, Speaker, Wire, Labor

What are the benefits of this feature?

 

Category Types allow you to find specific items in your database faster. Each Category Type has specific properties that trigger other features in SIX.

When to use this feature?

 

To differentiate Equipment, Speakers, Wire, and Labor in your Catalog.

Details

Equipment

 

Most Products in your Catalog will of this type. Receivers, Motion Detectors, etc. On the Specification tab on the Product Properties form, you have the following fields:

Speaker

 

Speaker Products have an additional field "Dispersion" if you want to track this information.

Wire

 

Wire Products have a "Diameter" field as well as a "Bulk Wire" option. The "Bulk Wire" option will treat the wire on a per foot/meter basis and should be used for wire that comes on a spool.

Labor

 

Labor Items have different Price fields than Products. They are treated like labor vs. products.
