When a new release of SIX 2013 is available, you will get the following notification when you open a SIX Client:
Prior to updating your SIX Server we highly recommend that you do the following:
Not every software release will have both a Client and a Server update but for those that do, you will not be able to work in your SIX Client until the SIX Server is updated as well.
Keep in mind, that once you update your SIX Server, all other users will need to apply the SIX Update to their Client machines in order to connect to the SIX Server.
To check for updates on your SIX Server, click Start->All Programs->D-Tools SIX->Check for SIX Server Updates.
If an update is found you will be prompted to download and install the update.
Click [Next] and follow all onscreen instructions.
After installing the update you will be prompted to configure your SIX Server. Here you will use either Express or Custom, depending on what you used when you first configured the SIX Server - most likely you used the Express option:
Follow all onscreen instructions.
Once your SIX Server is updated, when you launch a SIX Client you will get a prompt similar to the one below:
You can also check for updates within the SIX Client via Start->Help>Check for Updates:
If updates are found you will see a screen similar to the one below:
Choose the "Download and install now" option and you will see a screen similar to the one shown below letting you know what is available:
Click [Next] and follow all onscreen instructions.
