If you wish to make a backup of your local files on the client machine you will want to make a copy or zip of the following three folders. Note: all paths below are the default paths used when SI5 installs.
XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\D-Tools
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\D-Tools
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\D-Tools SI 5 Projects
Vista/Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\D-Tools
C:\Users\username\Roaming\D-Tools
C:\Users\username\Documents\D-Tools SI 5 Projects
Customized Reports do NOT backup as part of our backup utility so they must be manually backed up. See here for instructions.
If you want/need to make a backup of your server data you will want to make sure all projects are checked in and all users are logged out. There is a backup utility in the Admin Console that will backup your SI5 server data but if you wish to make a manual backup you will want to make a copy of the following folders and files:
Projects folder:
C:\DToolsData\Projects (or possibly C:\D-Tools\SI 5\Server\Projects)
Products folder:
C:\DToolsData\Products (or possibly C:\D-Tools\SI 5\Server\Products)
Databases:
*MSSQL.1 – the number may vary depending on how many instances of SQL you have installed on your machine
See link below for instructions on what to do to manually restore your SI5 Server:
