How do I change my Server folder?

 

The default SIX Server folder is: C:\DToolsSIXData

Answer

 

  1. Open your SIX Server Manager and stop the SIX 2013 Service:

 

File:SIX_Guide/003_Administration/FAQ_-_Administration/How_do_I_change_my_Server_folder?/stop_service.jpg

 

  1. Open Notepad with "Run as administrator" option:

 

File:SIX_Guide/003_Administration/FAQ_-_Administration/How_do_I_change_my_Server_folder?/run_as_administrator.jpg

 

  1. In Notepad, open the following file (default location): C:\Program Files (x86)\D-Tools\SIX\Server\ServerSettings.xml
  2. Change the "DataFolder" XML node to your new folder path:

 

File:SIX_Guide/003_Administration/FAQ_-_Administration/How_do_I_change_my_Server_folder?/data_folder.jpg

 

  1. Save the file.
  2. Copy the contents of the old SIX Server folder to the new server folder.
  3. Restart your SIX 2013 Service:

 

File:SIX_Guide/003_Administration/FAQ_-_Administration/How_do_I_change_my_Server_folder?/start_service.jpg
