Quick Setup Guide for Trial Users

Overview

 

Getting started with D-Tools SI is exciting and presents an incredible opportunity for any business seeking to improve efficiency, professionalism and bottom line results. This document guides you through the steps to install and explore the software in a quick and efficient manner.

 

First, install the D-Tools SI Server software followed by the SI Client software (Install SI 2016)

 

Once you complete the following steps, you will be able to experience the power of D-Tools SI.

 

  1. Update Company Information (Video)
    • Enter Company Information from the Control Panel
    • Manage your tax settings
    • Create users with permissions/roles
      1. List personnel (name, e-mail) by role
      2. Create user groups & permissions (optional)
      3. Create users and assign to groups
  2. Define Phase Labor Rates (Video)
    • Enter labor costs and rates your company charges by role/phase
    • Standard phases (Rough-In, Trim, Finish) will automatically be assigned to products added from the online library
    • Add Labor Items for other types of labor, e.g. Programming, Management, Design
  3. Download select products/manufacturers from our online product library (Video)
  4. Update pricing by using Price Rules, CSV import, or manually (Video)
  5. Create a new Project using the Project Wizard (Video)
  6. Run Reports or Report Groups (Video)
    • Company Profile
    • Scope of Work
    • Proposal
    • Detail Cost Summary
    • Project Summary
  7. Create a Visio Drawing (Video)
    • Line Drawings
    • Plan Drawings
    • Elevation Drawings
    • Schematic Drawings

 

Additional Features:

 

  1. Add required and/or optional Accessories to Products in the Catalog (Video)
  2. Create Packages of Products in the Catalog (Video)
